Tacoma Zombie Festerval and Preparedness Expo 2012

As many of you know, especially WtD Facebook fans, this last weekend saw the first annual Tacoma Zombie Festerval and Preparedness Expo. An all day Saturday event, the expo was a refreshing mix of young and old (it was given a PG-13 rating to be child friendly) and survivors and zombies alike. The event offered classes on bug-out-bags, self-defense and gold investing, a children’s and adults costume contest, two packed vendors rooms, a zombie walk/light rail flash mob, a film festival, a band performance and a raffle. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.

I am posting a small handful of my favorite photos from the event (from my camera only), but more images can be viewed on the Tacoma Zombpocalypse Flickr group page.

I really hope to see the ‘festerval’ around for a second year. I made some great connections with fellow authors and people from the zombie community that I have seen for years at different events but never had a moment to talk with until now. Also, including the kids (the next generation of zombie lovers and slayers!) was super cool and something that I think more zombie events should be cognizant of.
